Dates for IMIAL Level 3 Automotive Refrigerant Handling Qualifications are available at least once per month
This refrigerant handling course trains and certificates technicians to meet the needs of new legislation that came into effect on 4th July 2010.
The course has been specifically designed to address the issues surrounding the safe handling and use of refrigerant gases in automotive air conditioning systems and meets the required standard to fulfill the EU F Gas Regulation (EC842/2006 & Annex to regulation EC307/2008).
Training is normally conducted over 1 full day or for larger groups training is split over 1.5 days
The qualification achieved for successfully completing the course is the IMIAL Level 3 Award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling and the key areas covered in the training include:-
- Health and Safety requirements
- Working safely on vehicle Air Conditioning systems
- Specific legislative requirements
- Fundamental principles and operation of vehicle Air Conditioning systems
- Safe transfer of refrigerant from cylinder/bottle to AC Service machine
- Carrying out servicing on vehicle Air Conditioning systems
